DealCatch

The engine watches. You act.

DealCatch is Dexcatch's price intelligence engine. It calculates the fair value of every card, pulls real-time eBay listing data, and tells you exactly what each offer is worth — before you click buy.

The Fair Price Engine

Not a market price. A calculated one.

TCGPlayer shows what sellers are asking. eBay shows what sold. Neither tells you what a card is structurally worth. Dexcatch runs a proprietary calculation across two core signal areas to arrive at a single defensible number — Fair Price.

Card Signals

The engine reads the live market on every card — TCGPlayer market price, 30-day eBay sold median, active listing supply, and platform spread between the two markets. These signals are weighted and blended into a baseline that reflects what the card is actually transacting for in the current market, not what someone hopes to get for it.

Pull Economics

Every card carries a structural scarcity level determined by its pull rate, pool size, and how many cards compete for the same rarity slot in its set. A card requiring 900 packs to pull is fundamentally different from one requiring 150 — even if the market prices them similarly. Pull economics adjust the fair value baseline to reflect structural scarcity, not just surface price movement.

Clean data in. Clean verdicts out.

DealCatch pulls real-time listing data from the eBay API on every scan cycle. Before any listing reaches the engine, it passes through Dexcatch's proprietary data quality layer. Graded copies, non-English cards, auction-format listings, and statistical price outliers are automatically excluded. What remains is a clean pool of relevant, comparable, buyable listings. The engine only scores what it trusts.

100%Evidence-backed verdicts
Verdict system

Every listing gets one of four outcomes.

DealCatch compares the list price against the Dexcatch Fair Price for that specific card and assigns a single verdict. No ambiguity. No interpretation required. You know exactly what the offer is the moment it surfaces.

Steal
20%+ below Fair Price

Significantly below what comparable sold data and structural scarcity support. Strong buy signal. These are rare and sell fast — DealCatch is built for exactly this moment.

Best Deal
5–20% below Fair Price

Below market equilibrium. A real entry point — not a once-in-a-generation discount, but a genuine opportunity if you were planning to buy anyway.

·
·
Fair
Within ±5% of Fair Price

Trading at what the data supports. No urgency either direction — but now you have a baseline to negotiate from instead of guessing.

Overpriced
10%+ above Fair Price

The seller is anchoring above what comparable transactions support. You know the spread. Make a lower offer or move on — the data is on your side.

How DealCatch works

Set it once. Let it run.

You tell the engine which cards matter and what qualifies as a deal. It handles the scanning, scoring, and alerting on every cycle — automatically.

01
Add your card

Search any card from the Dexcatch inDex catalog and add it to your Catches. You're watching that specific card — set, rarity, version — not a keyword.

02
Set your threshold

Choose your alert trigger: Steal Only, Best or Better, or Any Deal. Pro users can also set a custom dollar threshold — alert me when this card drops below $X.

03
Engine scans

On every cycle, the engine pulls fresh eBay data, applies the quality layer, scores every active listing against Fair Price, and checks for qualifying offers on your cards.

04
You get the alert

When a qualifying listing fires, you're notified. The alert includes list price, Fair Price, spread, verdict, and a direct eBay link so you can buy before it sells.

What free users see every scan

The market in both directions.

Every scan, DealCatch surfaces the top 5 best deals and the top 5 most overpriced listings — free. The deals show you where to act. The overpriced list shows you what to avoid, and proves the engine calculates across the full price spectrum, not just the cheap end.

Catches

Watch the cards that matter to you.

The top 5 lists show you what the engine found today. Catches let you tell the engine exactly what you're hunting — and get alerted the moment it surfaces.

How Catches work

Add any card to your Catches and set your alert threshold. On the next scan cycle, the engine queues your card, scores qualifying active listings, and moves the Catch from Watching to Found if something hits your threshold.

The Found state includes the full deal analysis — list price, Fair Price, spread, verdict, deal signals, and a direct eBay link. From there, you click through and buy before the listing sells.

If the listing sells before you act, the Catch returns to Watching and resumes scanning on the next cycle. You never lose the slot — you just wait for the next qualifying offer on that card.

DealCatch maps every active listing back to your specific card — set, number, rarity tier — before it scores anything. A listing for “Pikachu ex” that doesn't match your exact version doesn't reach the engine. If no qualifying offer exists at the time of the scan, your Catch stays in Watching. That's not a failure — it means the market doesn't have a deal on that card right now.

5 catches per month — free
Every free account gets 5 Catches per month, resetting on the 1st. Slots are consumed when you add a card, not when an alert fires.
Use them or lose them
Unused slots do not roll over. If you end the month with 2 unused, they expire. The monthly cadence keeps your watchlist focused on what you actually want right now.
1 starter catch at onboarding
New accounts get a bonus Catch at onboarding that doesn't count against the monthly 5. So you experience your first alert without burning a slot.
Unlimited on Pro
Pro removes the cap entirely. Watch as many cards as you want, with 6-hour scan cadence and custom dollar threshold alerts.

Market Pressure

Is the market working for you or against you?

Every DealCatch scan measures market pressure — whether conditions currently favor buyers or sellers. This context changes how you should act on any given verdict.

Buyers Market

Supply outpaces demand. Sellers are competing for buyers, listings are sitting longer, and Best Offer acceptance rates are up. In a buyers market, a Best Deal may be negotiable and a Steal is more likely to hold. This is when DealCatch is most productive.

Sellers Market

Demand outpaces supply. Listings are selling fast and prices are trending up. A Fair verdict may represent a genuine buy before prices climb further. A Steal in a sellers market is extremely rare — and it will sell before most people even see it.

Questions

Before you set your first Catch

The things collectors ask before they start.

No. A slot is consumed when you add a card to your Catches. Removing it does not return the slot for that month. Slots reset on the 1st of every month regardless of how many cards you’re actively watching.
Your Catch returns to Watching and continues scanning on the next cycle. You don’t lose the slot. The engine keeps looking for the next qualifying offer on that card until you remove it or the month resets.
The monthly reset keeps your watchlist focused on what you actually want right now — not an accumulated list of cards from months ago. Five focused Catches are more useful than fifty stale ones.
Yes. Fair Price is recalculated on every scan cycle based on current TCGPlayer market price, fresh eBay 30-day sold data, and active listing supply. If the market shifts — price spike, supply flood, demand drop — the Fair Price adjusts and your threshold percentage recalculates against the new baseline automatically.
Yes. Every card on your watchlist has its own threshold setting. A $900 card might warrant Steal Only. A $60 card you’ve been hunting might be worth triggering on Best or Better. Thresholds are per card, not account-wide.
The top 5 Best Deals show you what the engine found across all cards today — you see them when you log in. A Catch is for a specific card you want. It runs on every cycle and alerts you the moment a qualifying offer appears, without you having to check. Steals on high-demand cards disappear in hours. Manual checking means you’re always too late. A Catch means you hear about it first.
